CENTRE FOR MODERN CHINA STUDIES

Centre for modern China studies has opened at the University by the solution (№ 6-22-883) of the Scientific Council’s meeting of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University  that conducted on June 26, 2012 and and as a director of this centre was appointed Professor, Doctor of Historical Sciences at the chair of International Relations and World Economy – Nabizhan Mukametkhanuly.

The main subject of the Centre for modern China studies is a comprehensive economic, political, social, scientific, cultural, and strategic studies about China.

The main purpose of the Centre for modern China studies is fundamental, strategic and applied research on modern People’s Republic of China. The main tasks of the Centre for modern China studies are:

  • study of the political, economic and social situations of modern China, the prediction of their development in the future;
  • conduct research on current problems of diplomatic relations, trade, economic and cultural relations, and security relations between the Republic of Kazakhstan and People’s Republic of China;
  • evidence-based counseling Kazakh companies to invest and trade in China, and vice versa, Chinese companies to invest and trade in the market of Kazakhstan;
  • writing informative and applied works on sinology and improvement Sinological base;
  • communication Studies on China with the educational process and training Sinologists various profiles;
  • exchange of information and the process of joining the World of Chinese studies in cooperation with other institutions of Sinology.
